What is the audition process?

In January and July, auditions are held for the upcoming show. We have a couple of weeks rehearsing audition pieces which are usually some dialogue and a song. Auditions take part infront of a panel usually consisting of the Director, Choreographer, Musical Director and a non-participant. If you are not currently a member, the audition fee is £20. Unless the cast reaches maximum capacity, you do not need to audition if you want to be in the ensemble.

How do i join?

In January and July, anyone can join for our upcoming shows, which can be found here. Just send us a message to let us know you're interested in joining. If you'd like to just come and watch a rehearsal to get a feel for our society, pop us a message and we will happily arrange!

The seats I want have disappeared mid-booking!

This may be to do your browsers cache and cookies (not the edible kind!). Try clearing your internet cache or history, and it should work as normal again. If the issue persists, give us a call on 07912 694 081 and we'll get back to you ASAP.

I've called but no one answered

Our phone line is looked after by our trusty and friendly volunteers, all of whom work full time. Don't worry if we don't get back to you straight away, please be assured we have seen your call and will ring you back as soon as possible! We thank you for your patience with this.

Why do you have a booking fee?

In order to manage our tickets successfully, we use an external booking system called TicketTailor. Tickettailor charge a booking fee the use their system, the fee is not set by ourselves and we do not gain any money from this. We are consistently looking at ways to bring this fee down, but we are currently thrilled to be one of the cheapest!

How much do your shows cost to perform?

On average, an MMTC show can cost upwards of £25k. There are a lot of aspects that go into making our shows great, including a live orchestra, trusty crew, scenery and set, props, costumes, theatre hire and more. As we are a charity, these funds are completely self-raised by our dedicated membership and audience. We rely on ticket sales, fundraising and sponsorships to survive. All money raised goes straight back into the company for our next show. We'd like to say a huge thank you to EVERYONE who has helped continuously raise money.

How can i help?

We have lots of fundraisers throughout the year that are open to everyone! We also offer sponsorships, whether you are an individual or a company, and are always open to donations. There are also opportunities to advertise in our show programme that reaches up to 410 audiences members a night (or matinee), and you can sponsor a page in the programme for just £10.

FAQs

When do you rehearse?

We rehearse every Tuesday and Thursday at Maghull Parish Hall at 8pm. For each show, a rehearsal schedule will be created month by month, so you will know when you are called down in advance. A month before the show, we begin Sunday rehearsals so we can run the show in full, these are usually 2pm-5pm.
